Why Blog?

I have not blogged for so long that I almost forgot why and how to write posts. Believe me, it was a herculean effort to just start writing again for my own blog!

Thanks to my college mate, I was “reminded” again the reasons why I blog.

There are many reasons why we blog. But it all boils down to 2 main ones:-

1. Make money

2. Build presence

Now, a blog can achieve both purposes of making money while building the blogger’s credibility. However, there is a large number of people or companies blog for the sake of building a presence or reputation.

My purpose of blogging is mostly to build my presence online. So people who wants to know who am I, can get to know me here.

A reader at a glance at the blog categories can sum up that I am an internet marketer who loves to travel and enjoy food.

So before you start blogging, you need to ask youself, why blog?

Once you have your objective, you can work you way to achieving it. Losing sight of your objective is one sure way of not blogging consistently. This was what happened to me towards the end of 2008. I was so involved in SEO that I totally forgot about my blog.

How do you start a blog? If you just google it, you will find a lot of tips on how to start your own blog.

If you want a resource book to tell you everything in a step-by-step way, then you can buy an e-book, read it and follow the steps. One of the better one I have read and found very helpful is the Super Affiliate Blogger. Though the book is for affiliate marketing, you can also use the book for any blogging purposes.
